Poet’s Corner

Fran My Sister

Valiant woman

     giver of life

             life’s nurturer

 lover of fun

 serious woman

 competitive woman

        inner drive

               outward motion

 happenings

     not always

           of choice

       always

               embraced

 cherisher

     of life

gatherer

       of memories

          transformed

               purified

          nourishment

               for new life

 welcome

     of things

         great

             and small

     the lady bug

           the child

               the bud

                   the flower

      in wonderment

              at all

 all movement

     and life

          dancing

                swirling

                   twirling

 in a noisy

    joyous

         chorus

 what value

      the darkness

         the inner turmoil

              outer void

 the spark

     is there

 what breath

     to fan

        the flame

Thanksgiving

blessings

   abound

with the

   profusion

      beauty

      and color

of autumn

   leaves

or

the silent

      stillness

   of

softly falling

      snow

joyfully

   we respond

      in

   thanksgiving

The Gathering

We too

     gathered

          as of old

we grappled

     with doing

          with being

we searched

     the depths

          the outer limits

everywhere

     and in all

we discovered

     God’s lifegiving

          power

entrusted

     with confidence

each moment

     to us

we too

     know

all shall

     be well.
