A Thought for Advent

“Never have human hearts needed Him so much.

Never has the world longed more for His touch.”

Let us prepare for His coming during these Advent days.

Autumn’s Face at Loyola House

Monday, November 7th, 2011

The early morning sun lights up the trees across the meadow

Ignatius- still bent into the wind – is resolute on his journey

A waning moon hangs effortlessly above the chapel’s cross

The garden too is waning…decay on it’s leaves but still a blaze of brave orange and pink..silver and gold…and shades of purple

Small birds..all of a kind..fly sporadically past southward

Later a pair of Canadian geese take the same path in close formation

My life too is waning..my autumn here

Is my face toward Jerusalem like Ignatius or the old wooden lady leaning on the chapel wall?
