OLM’s Observe Earth Hour

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Our Lady’s Missionaries celebrated Earth Hour in our various houses by turning off the lights and sharing prayer and conversation together.  May we all keep the spirit of Earth Hour throughout the year as expressed in the closing prayer suggested by Kairos Canada:  (

God, our Creator, as we reflect on the mystery of our fragile planet we celebrate the wonders of Earth as our home. Help us to discern how we have polluted our planet and to empathise with the groaning of creation. Teach us to sense the presence of God pulsing through Earth as a living green blue sanctuary. Teach us to love Earth as our home. In the name of Christ, the Word of God, who is the creative impulse in all creation. Amen.

Our Lady’s Missionaries Celebrate International Women’s Day

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Today is International Women’s Day and Our Lady’s Missionaries are remembering all the special women in our lives.  They are many, and they are found in all the countries of the world where we have shared life with others.

In Toronto many OLM’s joined the annual CNWE vigil.  Each year on the Friday before International Women’s Day, CNWE (The Catholic Network for Women’s Equality – holds a vigil at the downtown corner of Bay and Bloor, raising awareness of violence against women in general and about human trafficking in particular.

Today some OLM’s also joined the Women for Women (  Bridge March saying NO! to war and YES! to peace and hope.

 How did you celebrate?
